The Douglas County School District is Colorado’s third-largest school district, serving more than 63,000 students in preschool through twelfth-grade. The Douglas County School District RE-1 Board of Education is the policy-making body of the school district.
The Board is composed of 7 volunteer Directors who are elected to staggered, four-year terms at regular biennial school elections, which are held on the first Tuesday (after the first Monday) in November of each odd-numbered year. Board Directors represent 1 of the 7 director districts and are elected at-large. The next school board election will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
