According to the Douglas County Libraries Collection Policy, the library “will make every effort to correlate our content choices with community demand and interests. The District seeks to build a market driven inventory rather than any pre-conceived philosophy or bias.” You can help support diverse books and authors just by using your library card and demonstrating community demand!
Please login to your account on the library website or visit the branch closest to you to place holds on the titles that are being challenged. Here is a list of currently challenged books with direct links to the library catalog:
Placing these titles on hold will also help trigger automatic re-orders if the book banners decide to misshelve or indefinitely “borrow” books – a common tactic with Catholic Vote’s “Hide the Pride” campaign. Although they can be charged to replace library materials they don’t return, it’s a price book banners are willing to pay if it means keeping a book off the library shelves.
